Glass

About:

Just Playing With Glass is predominantly a fused glass creative outlet creating beautiful pieces for every day use and special occasions from sheet glass and upcycling found glass.  As a continuous learner I am always learning and experimenting with materials and techniques, hence the name "Just Playing With Glass.”

Artist Statement:

I have always felt the need to create as a way to center and balance myself.  I started with stained glass in high school and was introduced to fused glass in 2016 during a friend's night out event at a local glass studio.  Oddly enough, I was blowing glass ornaments while a fused glass class was going on in the classroom next door.  I immediately signed up for my first fused glass class and was instantly hooked.

During the pandemic while so many places were closed, I purchased my first kiln.  I starting working with found glass items, turning bottles and jars into luminaries, candle holders, bird feeders, cheese plates, deviled egg holders, spoon rests, planters, windchimes and dishes using a variety of techniques. This line of work I often referred to as my "Once was a Bottle" line.

Today, my work is sold in numerous stores and at artisan events.  I do custom work for special occasions and restoration work and teach fused glass and upcycling glass classes.
